We were established in 1957 with the founding of the cooperative that would become Granlatte, the largest company of milk producers in Italy, which controls the joint-stock company Granarolo S.p.A.
We are the only Italian production chain based on an integrated production system, where the entire process is controlled and managed in close collaboration with the best local producers.
Together we follow all the stages of the process: from the production of the raw material to the distribution of the finished product to points of sale, to ensure the highest quality and safety and the constant search for comprehensive sustainability, which translates into animal welfare, less drugs, less water, less emissions, less plastic, more transparency on origin, more protection of work.
Granarolo's shareholders are located right across Italy as are the Group's 15 plants in the country, distributed in such a way that the average distance between the stables and the plants is about an hour.
According to the Granarolo quality philosophy, the milk must be packaged and consumed near the farms that produce it to ensure its freshness; for this reason, it maintains factories located at a regional level, to bring those who produce and those who consume closer together in as short a production chain as possible.
Granarolo has built its main product categories around milk:
Sustainability, attention to health and the search for flavours that meet the tastes of our consumers guide us in Italy and abroad under the banner of innovation.
